LactoSpore®
Bacillus coagulans at 166 mg, a spore-forming probiotic that survives stomach acid and reaches the gut alive.

The short answer
LactoSpore is Bacillus coagulans, a spore-forming probiotic. The spore is the point: it survives stomach acid and bile, germinates in the intestine, and does not need refrigeration or an enteric coating to arrive alive.
The form, and why it matters
A spore former rather than a Lactobacillus or Bifidobacterium strain. That distinction matters, because the common gut bacteria in yoghurt are largely killed by stomach acid unless the product is specially protected, and the spore is a structural answer to that problem.
Typical dose
Probiotic doses are given in colony forming units, not milligrams. LactoSpore products are typically standardised to a CFU count per serving; Keel carries 166 mg of the standardised preparation, and the CFU count is on the supplier's specification sheet.
What the research shows
Probiotic research is strain-specific, which is the honest caveat: a result for one Bacillus coagulans strain does not automatically apply to another. The general finding across strains is support for gut comfort and regularity rather than a treatment for anything.
Who should be careful
People who are severely immunocompromised or have central venous catheters should talk to a clinician before taking any probiotic, because rare cases of bloodstream infection have been reported in that group.
