What this actually is
Hull is the easiest ingredient list we have ever typed. Creatine monohydrate. That is the whole tub.
Your body makes a little creatine on its own and stores it in your muscles, where it helps recycle energy during short, hard efforts like lifting, sprinting or carrying all the shopping in one trip. It is one of the most studied supplements there is.
One scoop is 5.6 g and gives you five grams of creatine. There are fifty scoops in the tub and it is unflavored, so it disappears into water or juice without a fuss.*
Where it is made
Made in the United States in an FDA-registered, GMP-certified facility, then packed and posted from Arvada, Colorado. The address on the label is ours, and there is usually a dog in the building.
Twenty seconds, one capsule with a face.
Pip walks through what is in the bottle and how much of it, straight off the label. Sound is off until you tap it, which we think is only polite.
Here it is, drawn to scale.
One ingredient, one bar, five grams a scoop. There is no official Daily Value for creatine, so there is no percentage to print.
** Daily Value not established for creatine. No other ingredients: the tub is creatine monohydrate and nothing else.
How to take it.
A scoop, a glass and a spoon.
One scoop in eight ounces of water or juice
The label's loading phase is four scoops a day for the first five days. After that, one or two a day.
Same time, most days
Pin it to the kettle or the morning coffee. Turning up is the whole trick.
Somewhere cool and dry
Not the bathroom. Skip it if the seal is broken. Keep out of reach of children.

Faster recovery between lifting sessions
I lift weights 4 days a week. Since adding Hull, my delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) has decreased noticeably. Joints feel supported too.
Excellent supplement for active lifestyles
CrossFit leaves me wiped out, but Hull seems to speed up muscular bounce-back. Feel stronger going into heavy lifting days.
Good progress over 4 weeks
Strength numbers are steadily climbing and training fatigue is manageable. Slightly earthy taste if not swallowed quickly, but works well.
Noticeable physical resilience
I do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and my body takes a beating. Hull has been a great addition to my recovery regimen.
Legitimate support for tendon and muscle health
Knees and lower back feel significantly more comfortable during heavy squat sessions and long training blocks.
The studies behind it.
Four papers worth knowing about, written up in plain English. They test the ingredients rather than this exact bottle, and where that difference matters we have said so.
Twenty-two studies in the weights room
A review of 22 studies compared lifting with creatine against lifting with a placebo. Strength went up 20% with creatine and 12% without. The number of reps people could manage went up 26% against 12%.
The catchEverybody in those studies was training. Creatine added to the lifting. It did not do the lifting, and people varied a lot in how much they got out of it.
Load quickly, or just turn up
Researchers gave 31 men creatine two ways. Twenty grams a day for six days raised muscle creatine by about 20%. Three grams a day got to a similar place, more gradually, over 28 days.
The catchSo the loading phase on the label is the quick route, not the only one. A scoop a day arrives at much the same spot about a month in.
Creatine and the thinking bits
A systematic review looked at six randomised trials covering 281 healthy people. Short-term memory and reasoning may improve with creatine, and vegetarians did better than meat-eaters on the memory tasks.
The catchMay is doing real work in that sentence. Other kinds of thinking gave mixed results, and young adults showed no change.
What the sports nutrition society says
The International Society of Sports Nutrition reviewed the creatine research in 2017. The loading routine it describes is five grams four times a day for five to seven days, the same one on our label. It reports that studies of up to 30 grams a day for five years found no harm in healthy people.
The catchHealthy people is the important phrase. If you have a kidney condition or take regular medication, ask your clinician first.

Things people ask.
01How do I take Hull?
Stir one scoop, 5.6 g, into eight ounces of water or juice. The label's routine is one scoop four times a day for the first five days, which is the loading phase, then one or two scoops a day after that.
02Do I have to do the loading phase?
No. In the study that compared the two, a few grams a day reached a similar level of muscle creatine to loading. It just took about a month instead of a week. Loading is the quick route, and a scoop a day is the scenic one.
03How long does a tub last?
There are 50 scoops in it. That is 50 days at one scoop a day, or 25 days at two. The loading phase uses 20 scoops in the first five days.
04What does it taste of?
Not much. Hull is unflavored, so it takes on whatever you stir it into. Juice hides it completely. Water is perfectly fine too.
05Is Hull vegan?
Yes. The only ingredient is creatine monohydrate. No capsule, no flavoring, no sweetener.
06Should anyone skip it?
Talk to your clinician first if you have a kidney condition, are pregnant, nursing, under 18, or take prescription medicine. Keep your water intake up while you use it.
